What do you think of my new look? I like it better than the dark background I used to have. I needed a little sunshine in my life. I think this looks more cheerful and fits my image better.

Well now off to paint in my craft room. Things are coming along good, we got lots done but still lots to do yet. TGIF, hope you all have fun plans for the weekend!

Winter blues!

Winter is still here in full force! I woke up this morning to VERY wintry weather, YUCK. We're supposed to get 4-8 inches today. But then I looked out my front window and I saw about 10 cute little birds in this tree, I think they were Common Redpolls, that cheered me up a bit. In my bird book it says that they winter in Minnesota after summering in Canada. I've never seen them in my yard before so it was nice seeing them this morning. I wish this picture would have shown them closer up, I had my camera on zoom but it couldn't zoom it close enough. I love bird watching. We used to have a bunch of bird feeders in our yard so I got to see all different kinds of birds but then my dog started eating the fallen birdseed and got stomach trouble so we had to remove all of the bird feeders. I sure miss having them but my dog is more important.
Well back to work on my dollie orders now, have a great day!

Sneak peak at the progress!

This is a sneak peak at the progress in my craft room! There's lots of work to do yet but it's getting there slow but sure. What do you think of the color? I LOVE it! Nice and bright in there now and cheerful. The top picture shows the side of the room that my cutting counter will be, I'll have lots of drawers for storage, yippee. The counter here will be 36" wide and high enough to stand and work. I prefer to stand while I work, or I can sit on a stool if I want. The second picture shows the side that my sewing machine will be on. The counter had to be cut to make a box lower than the counter for my sewing machine to sit in. Won't this just be awesome, I'll have 6 drawers for storage here. My old sewing table was so small it was hard to sew in production mode I had no place to line things up, this counter should work perfect for that. Wait till you see how cute it will be when it is done!

Happy 33rd Birthday Brad!

Today is our first born, Brad's birthday, he is 33! He is a wonderful guy, we're very proud of him! He's a site manager for Prairie Restorations Prairie Restorations Inc - Restoring Natural Habitats - Maintaining Native Lan Check out the website they do beautiful work. Hope you have a fantastic birthday Brad! We are having a party here tonight for him with all of the family that lives close by. Spaghetti and meatballs, and cheesecake, that's what he requested.
Yesterday Gordy and I got the cabinets for my craft room cleaned up and in the craft room. Now we have to figure out a good arrangement for them. It is way more complicated (way to hard to explain) than we first thought it would be. There are so many things to think about when setting it up, it has to be efficient and still look nice. This week we will get it figured out and get my craft room set up. How exciting right!
Oh, yeah I almost forgot I added more stuff to my Etsy page take a look!

Yeah, I had my first sale on Etsy!

This little cutie is off to her new home in MI today. My first sale so far on Etsy! OMG, I was SO excited when I got the email saying it sold. Fun! Hopefully now all the things I have listed in there will sell. Don't forget to check my page out, I just added a bunch on new stuff yesterday.
My craft room is coming along slow but sure. We have the walls and woodwork painted, one coat of paint on the floor. I think it needs another coat on the floor but my guys don't think so, I'm not sure if it's just because they don't want to do it or it really doesn't need it, lol. Hopefully this weekend we will get a lot more done in there. I am itching to get in there to work in my new space! I am going to start sewing today in my dining room, I have an order to make a cowboy and cowgirl Annie.
Well I better get busy now, can you believe it's Friday already, where does the time go?!

Get a load of this LOOT!

Get a load of this loot I found antique shopping over the weekend! I found all of this stuff on Friday and Saturday in a couple different antique shops. This isn't a very good picture but can you see all the good stuff! I am in need of buttons in certain colors so I found some in the colors I wanted, zippers, a bunch of ribbon, other assorted trim, little story books, bottle brush Xmas tree, tiny quilt and misc. stuff. Cool huh! I can't wait to get back to work so I can use some of this stuff on dollies and purses!
Gordy took me on a overnight Valentine's getaway on Friday. We went to Wabasha MN to see the eagles that winter there on the river. We didn't get to see many eagles up close but we saw some from far away, that was disappointing, we were hoping to see lots more and closer up. We went to the Eagle Center there in Wabasha. We had a delicious dinner in a restaurant there called Vinifera. We were shocked to find there wasn't even one antique store in Wabasha we thought there would be a bunch of them. We found some shops on the way there and then on the way home though. The antique shopping was more fun. We had a great time, it was wonderful to getaway overnight together.
My craft room is coming along GREAT! My brother Bruce came over yesterday to help me paint. We got the ceiling painted and the woodwork. I'll take more pictures this week to post when we get the walls painted. Hope you have a fantastic President's Day!

I opened a shop in Etsy today!

I opened a shop today in Etsy! I put 3 purses and 2 dolls in my shop. Hopefully you will all go check it out, there's a link to my Etsy page on the left side of this page under Where you can by my stuff, just click on my Etsy shop.
My brother Al worked on the sheet rock in my craft room today. He has one more day on it yet. My brother Bruce got the electical put in yesterday he will have to come back after the room is painted to hang the new lights.

The remodel!

The top picture is of what my craft room looked like part way into the remodel then the next two are of it today after a little more demolition. Hopefully we will have the electrician (my brother Bruce) over today to start putting in my new lights. Tomorrow my brother Al is going to work on putting in some new sheet rock and do some other things. It is SO exciting! I can't wait to have a brand new beautiful and efficiant work space. I know as some of you have pointed out (Renee,lol) it will get messy when I am in my busy production mode, lol, but I plan to train myself to take 20 min. every time I work in there to straighten and clean up when I am done. Hopefully that will keep it neat an tidy. I'm going to set things up for convenience and work ablilty. I will keep you posted on the progress!

Craft room inspiration!

These are a couple of the pictures that I am using for inspiration for my new craft room. I am pretty sure I will paint the walls turquoise like these two rooms. It is bright and cheerful. Yesterday Gordy and I went to a salvage place and got a bunch of cabinet units with drawers, they came out of apartments. They are all going to go below my counter top. I'm going to have a L shaped counter on one end of the room with cabinets all below. On the other side of the room I am going to have a counter top with cupboards with drawers on each side and that will be my sewing station. Now we have to find some flooring for the room. I'm gonna work on getting everything out of there this weekend. That is the yucky part. I can't wait till it's done! Well off to work now! Have a great weekend!

Beautiful sunset!

This was a beautiful sunset in the port at San Diego CA. The picture doesn't do it justice it was so much prettier in person. The sky was so many different colors.
Today was my 3rd day in a row that I worked out first thing in the morning. I can't wait until I am addicted to it again. If I exercise everyday I don't feel right if I miss my workout, so then it just becomes a habit that I don't like to break. I really do feel better for the whole day when I work out, it gives me more energy and I feel thinner and more toned. For 4 years I worked out everyday with a day off once in a while. I just needed a break from it to remind me why I need to do it, I guess. I never have gotten to the point where I like working out though, I'm just glad when it is over and I did it. The only exercise I really like is taking long walks with someone.
Still organizing and cleaning out my craft room so I can remodel it! I will definitely take pictures when its all done to share.
Tomorrow Gordy, Luke, Al an I are going ice fishing. Hope the fish are biting!

My feet were happy!

This is one of my favorite things to do, to walk on the beach. I was born in Florida so I have the ocean born in me, I feel so at home when I am at the ocean. It doesn't matter which ocean it is I love them all. I love the way it smells and the sound it makes. It's so relaxing to me. I absolutely LOVE snorkeling but only when the water is warm.
Today I began my healthy eating and exercising life again. I took a break from eating only healthy food and haven't been exercising regularly either lately. It feels so good to be back on track to making that a priority. I have gained some of the weight back that I lost 4 yrs ago and don't feel good about it so now I will be doing something to change that instead of complaining about it. It is a struggle at first to get back to the routine of exercising everyday but I feel so much better when I do, I have more energy the whole day. I've been dealing with terrible hot flashes especially at night so I haven't been sleeping good, that's not fun at all! If any of you have any good antidotes for that PLEASE let me know. I have been taking Wild Yam complex and that used to work really good but all of a sudden it stopped working for me. I don't want to go on hormones so I'm not sure what to do now.
I decided I'm going to remodel my craft room with Gordy's help of course. I am going to take everything out of the room then rip some stuff out, build new shelves and cabinets, put new flooring down, paint it cute and then bring everything back in and organize it really well. I have SO much stuff it's unbelievable! That is my goal for the year to get my whole house more organized. I will tackle it one room at a time.
