Sweet little baby bird!

This sweet little baby bird just hatched. It is so tiny and looks like it has a little mohawk on it's head! An Eastern Phoebe made a intricate little nest on top of my parents window air conditioner at there trailer. Hopefully the other eggs will hatch too. My Mom says that she starts hearing the chick chirping around 4am. The air conditioner is in one of their bedroom windows. Hopefully they will be able to sleep in the am once they all hatch. I had to do some investigating to find out what kind of bird nest this was, the mother bird is so fast when you walk up she flies away so fast it took a while to see her and figure out what kind of bird I thought she was. I came home and looked in my trusty bird book guide to be sure it was what I thought it was and sure enough it is. I love bird watching it's one of my favorite things to do! I'm kinda good at it too, hehe!
Hope you all had a terrific weekend, I did!

A little of what I've been busy with!

These pictures show a little of what I've been busy with lately. It's funny that we here in MN go through so much work to plant so many annuals when they only last around 4 months before we have a killing frost. I guess we need it to get through our long winters. I LOVE flowers and really enjoy gardening. It's so relaxing to dig in the dirt. This little cart that I put on my fronts steps was rescued from a dumpster (can you believe what people through away), Gordy (my hubby) put a fresh coat of paint on it and wallah it is perfect for a plant stand. I have more planting to do, more pots to fill and more sprucing up the yard. I've also been doing inside spring house cleaning and making my house look more cheerful for summer. More pictures next week of my progress.
As far as my crafting goes I have just finished up 4 awesome theme purses that I will share with you next week. I will be starting my dolly making this week too for all of you that are wondering when I will ever make dolls again.
Well I have LOTS to do so have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Rochelle's tree!

We call this Rochelle's tree because it always blooms right around my daughter Rochelle's birthday. It sure looks beautiful this morning in full bloom! It's a such a nice morning, the sun is shining and it is warm out a little windy though. We sure have had a windy spring so far, seems that the wind is blowing hard everyday.
Well I have lots to do today so have a wonderful day!

I finished some "NEW" items!

This is a great colorful little wallet! I sent one just like this to my sister for her birthday. It's so nice if you carry a smaller purse, there's still plenty of room for your important stuff.
These two shoulder bags are the same just made from different fabric. I love how they turned out the shoulder straps are so wide and comfy. They have 2 outside side pockets for keys, glasses or cell phone and 4 large inside pockets.
This is a great messenger bag that I made using vintage cotton material I found in an antique store. I just adore the colors of this! I gave it a orange theme with the applique I sewed on the flap and I sewed an orange slice applique inside too. Isn't the vintage trim cute on the strap too! The outside front has two pockets and the outside back has a large pocket too. On the inside I sewed in a 7" sturdy zipper pocket.
All of these things are machine washable and line dried to which is great! They are all for sale if any of you are interested just email me. Hope your all having a GREAT week. Back to work now on a cherry theme purse!

My baby girl is 30!

The day you were born 30 years ago was one of the best days of my life. My sweet baby girl was born. Oh, how happy I was! I was afraid to wish too hard for a girl I just wanted a healthy baby but when the doctor said "it's a girl" I let out a squeal of delight!
You were such a good, happy baby! You smiled all the time.
My two little farmers in there overalls. You were a tough little tomboy, you could keep up with big brother Brad and the other boys. And boy could you punch the boys knew to be careful with you or you would beat them up. You were a girly girl too. You loved dressing up and wearing Mommy's makeup and shoes. It was so much fun sewing you pretty dresses and teaching you about make up and fixing your hair. What a little cutie you are!
This is one of my favorite pictures of you, you pushed this shopping cart filled with your dollies all over the house. That smile is infectious!
This is you being a good big sister to Luke. You loved taking care of him and being a little Mommy.
Another one of my favorites of you, being a silly movie star! So dramatic!
Your early teen Madonna stage. So cool!
One of your Dad and my proudest days, the day of your college graduation. Look at how beautiful and grown up you are.
And this wow the day you married your forever true love! He is such an amazing man, we were all so lucky to have him enter our family. You were the most beautiful bride I have ever seen, you couldn't have been more beautiful!
Oh, how time flies when your having fun! I can't believe your turning 30 but just remember life is just getting started for you it's only the beginning! Your Dad and I love you so very much and are so proud of you we could burst. You really are a beauty inside and out!

Happy Birthday Big Sister Cathy!

I want to wish my big sister Cathy a Happy Birthday! Really she is only 11 months older than I am but still she is older.....LOL! I have had her for my best friend my whole life, I'm one lucky lady! I hope you have a wonderful day! I love you VERY much! She is the sweetest person ever! Hardly ever putting herself first, she is so thoughtful and kind hearted a REAL sweetheart, beautiful inside and out! I am VERY lucky to have you for a sister and friend!

Princess Annie has a new home!

Little Princess Annie is going to her new home with today in New Jersey. Bonnie adopted her yesterday on my Etsy page http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6915742
I hope Bonnie LOVES her! She fell down in this pose while I was taking her picture so I took it like this, isn't she cute she looks like she was posing for me like a little Diva well her name is Princess, lol.
Mother's Day was so much fun yesterday! The guys and my niece cooked a pancake breakfast for the Mom's and cleaned up afterward too. Then we played games all day and just hung out, very fun! Ordered pizza for dinner, I didn't have to cook all day or clean up, YEAH, very cool indeed! Hope all of you other Mom's out there had a GREAT day too!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is my Mom's graduation picture. She is and always will be the most beautiful women in the world to me. I am the second child of six, I'm not sure how she did it. I have three children and at times it was hard, I can't imagine having double that. She is my biggest fan, I always know she will tell me the truth about something I've made and I LOVE showing her my things, she is the reason that I am a creative, artist person. She has always been able to make something out of nothing, it is amazing what she can do with a imitation snake skin brief case, lol (inside joke)! She is a best friend, a wonderful Mom and a role model for me. I love you Mom with all my heart, your the best Mom I could ever ask for and I am so proud of you and VERY lucky you are my Mom! Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all you other Mom's out there too! Have a GREAT day!

Tiptoe through the Tulips!

My Tulips are in full bloom! Here there are swaying in the sunshiny breeze yesterday afternoon. It was a gorgeous day yesterday here, the sun was shining brightly and in the mid 70's. Gordy and Luke mowed the lawn yesterday for the first time this season.
I'm working on about 3 projects at once right now, busy, busy, busy! I keep skipping from one thing to the other, not sure which to focus on first. It's hard to stay focused when I have so many different things to do I keep getting off track. This time of year is so hard for me there are always so many things to do in the spring! Well I better get to work then right!!! TGIF!

Three new handbags!

I finally got pictures of the three new handbags that I finished up last week. They are 18 1/2" wide and 7" tall. Such a neat size and fit nicely on your shoulder or on your arm. They have wide zipper openings so it makes it easy to find stuff. The top two are machine washable and line dry but the third one is made with upholstery fabric so can't be machine washed. I listed them on my Etsy page today so go check them out Etsy shop
Well I gotta get back to work now so hope you're having a great week!

I'm making more of these!

I made some of these button bracelets last year and they were a hit at my craft show so I'm making more of them. I found pink elastic in a bag of vintage goodies that I got at an antique store, I love how it looks, I used only black elastic last year. This year I'm gonna make some with pink, white and black elastic. I got some super cute polka dot buttons too so they are extra cute, I am in love with polka dots can't have enough. Can you notice my yellow polka dot table cloth under the bracelets!
I made one of these it's a different style, I sewed the buttons to a leather strip and used a smaller button with a loop closure. Not sure I'll make more of these even though this one turned out SUPER cute.
Sorry I haven't been a very good blogger lately. I've been VERY busy! There's always so much to do in the spring, spring cleaning, yard work etc. Hopefully I'll post pictures soon of the 3 new purses I finished up last week. I'm gonna start making dollies soon now that I can hang them on the line outside to dry after I coffee stain them. I think it will be a nice change to make dolls after concentrating on purse making for a while now. Hope you all had a good Monday!
