I saw some celebrities in Tennessee!

I am an avid Bachelor fan so I thought this was cool. Do you all remember season 6 of the Bachelor? The top picture is of Byron Velvick season 6's bachelor and the second picture is of Mary Delgado the woman he picked on the show. They are still a couple and fish bass tournaments, they are both pro/boaters. They seemed very nice and well respected by the other fishermen. Byron placed #66 and Mary placed #143.

Back from Tennessee.

This picture was taken at the Bass tournament at 6:30 am in the morning of the first day. It is unbelievable how organized it is. The boats all file into line according to the # they were given.
This is Luke on the first day in line with his Pro/boater. He didn't catch any fish that were big enough to weigh in on the first day.

This is Luke with his Pro/boater leaving in the morning and then weighing in later on the second day, he had 2 fish, 4-1 lbs. That wasn't enough for him to fish the 3rd day of the tournament, darn! Luke ended up #88 as a Co-angler out of 165

This is the Pro that Luke fished with on the second day, Terry Bolton with the biggest fish of the day it weighed 6 lbs 4 ozs, he won $1000 for it. It was awesome that Luke was in the boat with him and netted it for him. He really enjoyed fishing with him and learned a lot. Terry Bolton recently won a tournament with FLW for $75,000.

This is my nephew Eric Sheley going out on the first day with his Pro/boater. He didn't catch any fish big enough on the first day to weigh in.

This is Eric on the second day with his Pro/boater. He caught one fish on the second day that was big enough to weigh in.
This is Eric weighing in his fish it weighed 1-15. It wasn't enough for him to fish the 3rd day. He was #123 out of 165 co-anglers.

What a GREAT experience it all was! We all had a wonderful time! Paris Landing State park in Tennessee (that's where the tournament was) was really a beautiful place. We stayed in the park at the Park Inn, no complaints at all about that place it was GREAT! This is the website I highly recommend it if you are in the area.
We also had awesome quality family time. My sister and I had fun exploring the area together.
I'll post more pics of the trip this week.

My youngest son Luke.

This is my youngest son Luke, he's 24, he will be in his first professional Bass Tournament the Central Open 2 Sept 25-27 in Paris, Tennessee as a co-angler. I am going to leave tomorrow with him so we can get there early so he can pre-fish the lake. It has been a dream of his for a long time to be a pro bass fisherman. With him graduating from college in May and finishing up a summer job in Aug this if the right time for him to pursue his dream. He is an awesome guy and really puts everything into whatever he is doing so I hope it works out for him.
You will be able to go to this website to see the results.

My nephew Eric Sheley from Colorado will be in the tournament also as a co-angler. He has been fishing in professional Bass tournaments for a couple years now. He has done really well so far coming in 2nd last year in one of his tournaments.
My sister and I will be enjoying quality time together there supporting our sons. I can't wait to see her. I probably won't be posting then until I get home so have a GREAT week everyone and cross your fingers for the guys OK.

Yeah, I'm having a web site designed.

I'm finally going to have a web site! I'm SO excited! I met with the gal that's going to design it yesterday to talk about what I would like it to look like. I can't wait to see what she comes up with. She is supposed to be sending me a draft in the next few days to look over. I'm hoping it will be what I need for my business to expand. I've been wanting a web site for a couple of years now so finally I'm going to bite the bullet. This is the gals site that is doing it for me. She's so nice, your should check it out.

I haven't been getting much done this week as far as my crafts go. I've been getting new supplies and organizing projects. I need to get something done this week though since I will be gone all next week with my youngest son Luke, to Tennessee. He will be in his first professional Bass tournament. It's been his dream since he was little to do this so we told him, now is the time you need to pursue it while you can. I sure hope he does well! My sister and her son (my nephew) from Colorado are meeting us there, my sisters son Eric is already a pro Bass fishermen so my son and him will both be in the tourney competing against each other.
The weather is gorgeous this morning bright blue sky and sunshine, just the way I love it!

A dreary weekend here in central MN.

This picture is what the weather in Central MN has been like here, dreary all weekend. I am so glad it wasn't like this last weekend, we lucked out and made it through again with nice weather. If the weather would have been like it is this weekend I can't even imagine how bad the show would have been. Today we are only supposed to have a high of 53 with cloudy and rainy skies, YUCK. The rest of week looks good though sunny and warmer in the 70's. I shouldn't complain though, I feel SO bad for the people in Texas with Ike's wrath. I hope the hurricanes are done now for 2008, what a bad stretch it's been, with one after another hitting.
I guess it's a great day to stay inside and sew so I better get busy now right, lol. Hope you are all having a GREAT weekend and it's sunny where you are!

This purse was a hit at the show!

This purse was a BIG hit at the Little Falls show! I am going to start making a few of these today. One of them is a special order for a GREAT customer of mine and the others will be to sell so if any of you out there want one let me know and I will save it for you. I wasn't sure if I could get the material again but I found it so now I can get busy sewing. I never make 2 exactly the same so each one will have a little difference to it. The purse I carry is this same style and I LOVE it, it's so roomy and the front pockets are excellent for putting keys in. I made my daughter one of these for her birthday too and she loves it also a couple gals my daughter works with bought one from me and they love theirs too.

I'm gonna be making more of these glasses cases too, I sold a bunch at the show. Some ladies requested brighter colors so I'm gonna make some brighter colors. I have one of these in my purse with my sunglasses in it and I LOVE mine.
Well have a great, safe and productive TGIF everyone!

One of the signs I made for my show

This is one of the signs that I made for the Little Falls show. I LOVE this saying. It was SO hard because I hand paint my signs, I don't use a stencil to do them. It was so hard to figure out how big the letters should be and how to fit it all on so there was the same amount of room left on both ends. I know I am doing it the hard way but it sure turned out nice. I sold it to a lady that was thrilled with it, she said she looked all over that day for the perfect sign and she found this one, she really appreciated the fact that it was hand done. I don't know if I'll be doing any more of these in the future I will have to forget how yucky it was to do first.
It's raining here today and cool, hard to get motivated to change out of my pjs. I need to get busy though my Mom and Dad are coming over this evening, YEAH! I haven't seen them for about a week and miss their hugs, need a fix. I'm such a baby, lol. Bye for now have a great day!

Isn't this cute!

Isn't this cute! We made this last year when we gave my booth a make-over. A lady that came into my booth at the Little Falls craft show and wanted to buy this. I said it wasn't for sale it was my display sign and she said "so I want to buy it", I said why would you want to buy it with my name on it she said "Oh I can paint over that". I told her NO it wasn't for sale then she said real snotty "Well you just lost yourself a sale". Some people just don't get it, it isn't always about money. I have a bunch of cute display items but I don't sell them because I know that I won't be able to replace them and having a cute display is a HUGE thing to me.
It's FREEZING out today! Cloudy, windy and cold, plain yucky! I think Fall has hit here in MN. It's supposed to warm up this weekend though I think, I sure hope so. Where the heck did summer go anyway, it just blew by!
I worked yesterday as an election judge for the Primary election. It was quite the experience! It's hard work with a lot of responsibility. Thank you to all the people that do it. I'm glad I got the chance to experience it. I hope they call me back again in November for the general election. Wow, if I thought the Primary was hard I can imagine how much harder that will be.
I am talking with a lady about getting a web site set up for me so I'll let you all know when that is up and running, yippee, it's about time isn't it!
Take care and have a great day now!

Picture from my craft show.

This is one of the pictures that was taken at my craft show. A lot of the dollies in this picture are sold. I made 6 of the little RN Annie's in the bottom left of the picture and they all sold, also the doll with the chick in the highchair sold, I only had 2 of them and sold both. I LOVE this little play highchair, my brother found it for me at and antique store, the colors are perfect for my booth.
It is really chilly here this morning but it's supposed to warm up to 70 today and be in the 70's all week. That's good news to me because I'm am NOT ready for fall, summer went WAY too fast! I like the color of fall leaves but it's bitter sweet knowing winter is right around the corner, I HATE winter. I was born in Florida so I think warm weather is in my blood or something. I would like to be like a bird and fly south for the winter, lol.
I am working today as an election judge for the first time. I think I will be counting ballets for the Primaries or something. I will find out when I get there, should be interesting.
Have a great day everyone.

We had a GREAT show!

We had a GREAT show again this year in Little Falls! Thank you to my family for all of your help I couldn't have done it without you, love you lots! The weather was cold in the morning but warmer in the afternoon and we only had a little sprinkle early Sunday morning before the show started so we lucked out, yeah! Thank you to the people who did the "no rain" dance for me, you know who you are! We had a pretty good crowd on Sat. but it was VERY slow on Sunday. I'm not sure why their wasn't many people there on Sunday since the weather wasn't an issue, it was the slowest Sunday we've had in 11 years. It's was so much fun meeting all the nice ladies and soaking in the sweetest comments from them, it makes all the work that I put into my craft worth it. Thank you so much everyone! Also seeing my wonderful crafter friends is so much fun, they're an inspiration to me! Now I have to take a few days off to regroup and then back to creating new things for my next show November 22 at North Branch High School.
Bye for now, take care!

My BIG show!

Well, it's only a couple days away from my biggest show of the year,YICKS! I have some last minute stuff to do today, pricing, packing stuff up, finishing up some stuff & getting supplies together. The weather has turned really cool here and they are talking rain, NOOOOOOOOO, for the weekend, I sure hope not! It's always better to have cool weather versus hot weather for the show but we certainly don't need rain to put a damper on things. It's VERY bad for people with dolls in their booth to have rain, wood things are OK to get wet but not cloth! Hopefully we'll be lucky and have NO rain. That's the worse part of doing an outside show, we have no control of the weather. Enough about the weather then sorry I had to vent.
I'm not sure if any of my faithful customers read this blog but if you do I can't wait to see you, please make sure you come say hi. I'll let you all know next week how it goes. I better get busy now! Take care!
